The Aegina pistachio, or "fistiki Aeginis" as known in Greek, has been systematically cultivated in the island of Aegina since the 1860s. The unique taste, form and full kernel, are a gift of the island soil, of the Aegean sea and of the climate conditions in the area; these pistachios differ in taste and quality from other pistachios because of these unique characteristics of Aegina. The famous Aegina Peanuts come in their shells, are harvested by hand, sun dried and roasted with sea salt. Finally they are selected with hand precision, and packed with care to bring to the consumer a truly fine pistachio nut.
Company Nikolaos Tzitzis & Co is a family business and it is a state licensed processing and roasting business located on the island of Aegina. Since 1952 they produce and process only the finest Greek nuts and dried fruit. Their traditional roasting process perfectly brings out the flavor and natural oils of the nut.
