Description
St. John's wort plant, extra virgin olive oil and pure beeswax, are used by the monks on Mt. Athos in Northern Greece to produce this medicinal cream, known in Greek as "keralifi spatholadou" (κεραλοιφή σπαθόλαδου). Comprised of all natural ingredients, this cream is perfect for soothing rashes, sores and burned skin. The cream can be used as a remedy for skin injuries, like wounds, abrasions, sores and burns, because the combination of the ingredients provides a multifaceted care. The chemical compounds found in St. John's wart oil, hypericin or hyperforin, and tannin have anti-inflammatory, astringent, and antibacterial effects and relieve skin irritations, and beeswax contains approximately 300 substances which, in combination with the olive oil, provide a product rich in vitamins, minerals, trace elements, carbohydrates and antioxidants, that nourishes and tones up the skin.
Company Evloyia PCC (Private Company Council) was established in 2013 with only one mission; to provide to Greece and abroad authentic products from Mount Athos. This way, Company Evloyia provides a support to the holy monks, and contributes to the preservation of the Mount Athos legacy.
